2008 Pride Festival
Saturday, June 28, 12 p.m. until 7 p.m.
Enter at Westheimer at Yoakum

Pride Houston sponsors and produces the annual Pride Celebration to commemorate three nights of civil unrest known as the Stonewall riots. These riots occurred in late June 1969 in response to official harassment by the New York Police and are considered the birth of the movement for equal rights and liberation for GLBT people. Many communities in the U.S. and around the world hold Pride celebrations in June in memory of Stonewall.

Houston Pride Festival 2008

Pride Houston is celebrating our 30th birthday with a unique GLBT festival, offering a dazzling array of exciting activites sponsored by The Amalfi at Hermann Park and PRIDE Mall. Win great prizes playing carnival games, take your pick of clothing, accessories, one-of-a-kind GLBT souvenirs, and gifts for every taste! While you shop, enjoy the best summertime foods and relax in the refreshing PRIDE Oasis. Or party, dance, and take in select entertainment only feet away from 2 stages hosted by Pride Idol Houston! Feel free to browse over 60 community service and non-profit booths at your leisure. By popular demand, the air-conditioned GLBT History Tent is back again in 2008. This fascinating exhibit chronicles the history of our diverse community right here in Houston. It was one of the most acclaimed attractions at the 2007 Pride Festival, so don't miss it!

In addition, this year's Pride Festival features a one-of-a-kind Pavillion sponsored by The Amalfi at Hermann Park. This Pavillion promises to be the smashing attraction of 2008. Admission is FREE to all Pride Festival participants, courtesy of The Amalfi at Hermann Park.
